HiLo Dress by Night

As easily as this dress can be styled casually, it can also be dressed up for a date night or wedding reception. All I've done is added heels and a jacket and switched up the jewelry a little bit. By removing the strap on the bag, I now have an adorable little clutch!

Gosh, I love these wedges!

Since I went for such bright nails and a matching neon bracelet, I thought it would be best to keep the rest of the jewelry simple. These handmade earrings were perfect! With short hair, I can't wear huge, flashy earrings anymore, and hoop styles are usually out, but these were just the right size.
Delicate, refined, and artfully made by the boutiques' owner, these added just the right amount of fancy :)

And look how easy it is to style an outfit featuring neons and neutrals! With the smallest touch of neon you can make any outfit right on trend!

Don't forget to take advantage of the discount code FLEUR12! You can get 15% off both online and in-store!

Look of the Day: rain or shine

Seattle Spring: rain, sun, wind, hail.
The clouds are amazing, as they always are this time of year. Big, billowy mountains floating across the sky. I get distracted when I drive over one of our many bridges. Hopefully I won't ever have to blame an accident on "pretty clouds". That's a pretty lame explanation.

I was really regretting not purchasing this silver purse from Zara a while back, but it just so happens H&M had nearly the exact same thing. I got it for $5! The cape is a treasure I found at a thrift store in Olympia and the Merino wool turtleneck was $2 at the Fremont Sunday Market.

Emerald City & a Yellow Brick Wall

I'm actually not a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz, but I couldn't help noticing the similarities. Here I am on the yellow brick wall and my husband definitely doesn't live in Kansas anymore. Then there is the whole "little dog" bit.
She represents both the obvious Toto and the part where someone needs a brain.

And here we are in the Emerald City. Such a glorious place. You can say what you want about our weather, but this place is just spectacular.

Looking out over the sound from Discovery Park.

I learned something important over the years. The bitter parts in life are just there to make the sweeter parts that much sweeter. The gray days are there to make the sunny ones that much brighter.

Looking forward to more t-shirt days!

Wedges

Every mademoiselle should have at least one pair of wedges in their wardrobe. Out of all the different types of high heels you can buy, they are more often than not the most comfortable and most stable. This makes them great for work and everyday wear. Plus, you know, they're really cute.

I cannot get over how amazing these Cooperative wedges are. I can wear them for days in a row. Anytime someone comments on them, I direct them to the nearest Urban Outfitters and recommend that they pick up a pair immediately. They really are the most comfortable, walkable heels I've ever owned, and at $48 they are a great deal. Even if you don't have money to throw around, I highly recommend "investing" in a pair of these. Right now, they are available in-store in a nice sage green and black. I know other colors have been available (red, yellow, brown), but it might take a little digging to find them. The sales people at UO are usually pretty willing to call around to other locations if you are looking for something in particular.

Too much free time

Four jobs means I am usually running all over town, but this past month has been so slow. It's nice to have some time off, but I am running out of money. It seems like they all decided to stop giving me work all at once. I'm not sure what to do. I'm a little down.

The only summer pants in existence

I didn't think it would happen, but we finally had a day too hot for American Apparel harem pants. Although, I must say I wasn't miserable. I wore them to work with a black tank top and gray ankle-strap sandals from Forever21. The cafe was crazy today, so I'm glad I wore something comfortable and with a lot (A LOT) of coverage. These pants are seriously one of the best things I've ever bought from American Apparel.
