It's raining gemstones!

gems, green, fleur d'elise, handmade, art, home decor

But mostly it's just raining. A lot. It seems to do nothing but, whenever it's my day off. My plan was to photograph clothes for Etsy and maybe even take some outfit photos, but noooo. It was sunny yesterday and the day before -_-

gems, jewels, geode, geometric, fleur d'elise, coral, neon
I'll happily keep making these prints, though. I carved the stamps myself! It's my favorite sit-down activity right now. They're up for grabs on my Etsy shop along with a few other cards and things I've made. My co-worker and best customer, Lorea, has already bought two. She always loves everything I make, and I love her for that. Or it just means we have the exact same taste in everything.

On holiday

Haha, sadly, I am kidding! I've been working my butt off instead. I missed you all terribly :(

So much working and busy-ness meant I was not broke for a few weeks. It was a nice change, but now I am back to "Uh oh, shouldn't have spent that money at Forever21..." I think I will go back on my clothing diet (which was a great success, btw)

So I've been working hard at making my wedding reception happen, but I'm not really sure how to go about things. Thank goodness for my husband, who is very good at taking care of boring yet important stuff like making reservations and obtaining event insurance. It has given me a chance to play with colors and patterned papers and day dream about center pieces. I'm just getting the invites out that my step-mom was so graciously kind to put together for me. She is a graphic designer by trade and very skilled with the Photo Shops. She scanned in my original drawings and cleaned them up a bit, then worked with me for hours on alignments, fonts, and other graphic designy things I did not understand. Here's how they turned out:

I am still trying to think of the perfect thank you gift for her!

(The drawing is based on the original illustrations from Pride & Prejudice)

Ok, back to work for me! Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY! You can win this lovely little necklace :)

My outfit:

just a note

I wanted to share some of my cards with everyone. These are three of my favorite "Happy Birthday" designs.

I've been drawing for about as long as I've been playing dress up. Possibly longer! I'm not sure which pastime is my favorite.

The first two cards are hand-drawn designs and the last one has handwritten text and flourishes. I cut out the flowers with little tiny detail scissors. It was tedious! It's been one of the few cards I've reproduced en mass, and I have to cut the flowers for each card. For some reason, I can't figure out how to reproduce things in a timely fashion. Printing is expensive and doesn't always work for my designs. Oh well, it just means all my cards are one of a kind :)
