Look of the Day: Ok, it's a sack

It's just the right amount of shapeless, especially when it's 85 degrees! I found it while thrift shopping, of course. It's made of pin striped chambray and looks so cool over a crop or bandeau top.

Look of the Day: Plaid Shirt Dress

I fell in love with this dress at Value Village, despite all the repairs it needed. It's from the 1960s, possibly late 50s, and a few of the seams were just falling apart. I overcame my dislike of sewing and repaired them as best I could. We'll see how long they hold up!

Lately: Autumn 2015

Autumn in Seattle is usually as perfect as our Springs, but this year has been odd (not unlike the rest of the year). It's been unseasonably warm (in the 60s to 70s) and the leaves are too tired to do much. I can see the color changing a bit but most trees seem to have lost their leaves overnight. Like the rest of Seattle, they've had more than enough sun for one year. Today is cooler and the rainy skies are a welcomed sight. My plan for the day: coffee and a late breakfast, a bit of cleaning, and then, later, I'll meet my sister-in-law at the bins for some thrift shopping. We're going to bingo this weekend and shoulder pads and sequins are required.

If you have instagram, you're probably already tired of pumpkin pictures.

My love affair with malachite continues with my newest handcarved stamp. I was happy when my dad identified it as malachite, but he said it was mostly because he knew me. I think I might try incorporating it into my Christmas cards.

Singles are available on Etsy right now, and come with a shibori-lined envelope in Paper Source's limited edition color, Spruce.

Three Summer Looks

I took tons of photos the other day, but the lighting just wasn't right. The photos for these 3 outfits were all pretty ho-hum, and two photos just doesn't seem like enough for a post, so I decided to combine them!

This chambray skirt was thrifted in Palm Springs and just sold on Etsy.

I had this dress hemmed to a shorter length and is still available in my Etsy shop! I love the rainbow pattern!

I've been eyeing this Baggu bag at work for, like, the whole time I've worked there and decided to buy it for Palm Springs. The combinations of short and long handles made it great for travelling! My only complaint is that the blue rubbed off on my white romper -_-

The marbled shorts are just $10 (in-store) at Gap right now!

One final note, I'm having a mid-summer sale in my Etsy shop. Gotta make room in my apartment for Fall stuff! Use coupon code MIDSUMMER20 to get 20% off anything, even sale items! Ends 8/2

Links a la Mode 6.25.15

Took a break from lounging by the pool to share the good news. As you've probably realized by now, I made it on to IFB's Links a la Mode! Go check out all these other great bloggers!

Look of the Day: Blue Boho

This royal blue top is another treasure found in last week's thrift store outings. It's handmade, probably circa 1978 or so. Elastic in the gathered neckline makes it perfect for wearing off-shoulder. And guess what? It's for sale in my Etsy store!

I get so easily obsessed with new accessories. Right now, it's these grey Forever21 sunglasses.

Oh! And my new star bracelet! I've worn it everyday since I found it at Value Village. It's marked as sterling, but I'm gonna show it to my dad and get a second opinion. Either way, I'm crazy about it! I've been lusting after star pieces since the Rodarte headpiece debuted in 2012. So you know, for 3 years or so.

Bag is vintage, shoes are JCPenny (last year), and pants are Gap (thrifted).

Look of the Day: Thrifted Floral

It's been one of those magical weeks when it comes to thrift shopping, so I was inspired to get my camera out. I took photos of three different outfits! First off, this dress! It's from Old Navy, but I found it for $6 at Goodwill. Not exactly the best fabric for the 80 degree weather we've been having, but I couldn't not  wear it. I love it too much!

My second outing to a thrift store resulted in 3 amazing denim finds. First off, a pair of vintage Wranglers in fabulous condition. Unfortunately, they're a size 1, so they're up for grabs on my Etsy. Second, a pair of Acne skinny jeans for a whopping $4! That's like a savings of $246. The third pair was found in the boy's section (my favorite place to look since I'm small). They're a pair of raw denim jeans made about 10 minutes from me in Ballard. They're from the sadly-closed store, Blackbird. They used to make jeans and sell a great selection of men's wear, but have since moved to selling perfumes, incense, and super-cool beard oils online and wholesale. The jeans are another size tragedy, but they were too good to pass up.

More outfits coming soon!

Long Weekend: Trevor, Etc.

What a wonderful weekend! Although it wasn't as warm as I would have liked, it was still beautiful AND Trevor came home! We went out for crepes on Friday morning, bummed around Ballard all day, then had fancy pizza at Cornuto in Greenwood. I worked Saturday, but afterwards, Trevor was determined to eat oysters, so we had dinner at Ballard Annex. It was my first time there, and certainly not my last. The inside is super cool, the seafood was amazing, and the great service was just the cherry on top. And then today was Easter, so I feel like all we did was eat this weekend.

Instagrammy-whammy! The soaps shaped like crystals are from Prism on Ballard Avenue.

Hangin' out with Tilly's friends, Chip, Hammy and Creampuff.

Oh, that face.

Look of the Day: Ridiculous Floral Overalls

Reeee-diculous. These overalls, man. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cut them into shorts, but still, there's something awkward-cool about leaving them at this length. What do you think? Trevor hates them, obvi.

They'll be listed on Etsy soon.
