Look of the Day: expletives

There were many expletives in use today. It was that kind of angry where you just start crying instead of yelling. The whole reason: I've discovered that my new camera doesn't fit on my tripod. WTF, right? Oh, I'm sorry, was making it a standard size too troublesome for you, Fuji? Funny, it fits my other 4 cameras, even my SLR! Such a pain in my ass.

For now, I'm back to using my old camera for outfit photos. These turned out nicely, though, which helped calm me down.

The dress is new-ish and was one of those magical, meant-to-be finds. I had been thinking "I want a dress just like that one Alexa Chung wore in Elle magazine." I even painted a picture of it, but I messed up the face, so I haven't posted it (serves me right for not using watercolor paper). One day I was browsing Value Village with my mom, and there it was! Or at least, there was its short-sleeved cousin! And just my size, too!

Perfect mod coolness.

Lucky me!!

I got a fancy new camera! It's my anniversary present (which is not for another month and a half). I got a Fuji FinePix S2950. Got a sweet deal on it, too! More pictures to come :)

hello there!

Oh goodness! This always happens. I go on vacation and my whole flow is completely interrupted. It takes me weeks to get back into the swing of things. I'm surprised I am even back on my regular work schedule. And, of course, breaking my camera on vacation doesn't help in the blogging department. It's just the LCD screen that's broken, but it still makes it hard to take pictures since I can't tell what it's focusing on and I can't use any of the menu options. These pomegranates were photographed just 2 days before the fateful drop. I have never seen them "out in the wild."

We had a wonderful trip, my feet felt quite nearly fantastic, and I was even able to go shopping at Zara! We don't have any in Seattle, so it was a real treat. I'm a little disappointed in the quality, but I'll leave that topic for another post.

COVET.

"Tripod" is Numero Uno on my Christmas list: I need a tripod. BADLY. There is absolutely no natural light coming into my apartment anymore, so I'm going to have to venture outside. A tripod would be much easier to carry than the bookshelf I am currently using to prop up my camera.

Anyway, repeated apologies for my absence.

This week's COVET. is not horrendously priced, but I am so low on funds right now, it might as well be $1,200. In reality it's only $140 and is what experts like to call a "Comme des Garcons wallet." But that is just the technical term. The locals refer to it as "Oooh pretty!" This specimen features embossed leather, gold hardware, and a separate pocket for coins.



Let's face it, this is about as close as I can get to affording Comme des Garcons anything, but it is still not close enough. Really, I could have picked anything this week, and it would have been out of my reach, but I must remember another rule of COVET. is that it must be nice too! It must be something that other people might drool over as well, and from what I can tell, people like CdG. They make very nice high-quality leather goods in wonderful colors. What else could you want? ...Don't say vegan leather. That is just vinyl. It's like saying vegetarian hot dogs are good for you. You know what else is full of soy? Gas station food.

Annnyway. My point is, I am broke because I went to H&M like 5 times in a week.
